Wild Horses, Dark Horses

The last herd of film directing students I had were like the wildest colts. Full of energy. Full of surprises. It was always exciting to screen their films and then give my immediate, detailed stream of consciousness critique on the work. It was a great ride. Really, I loved it.

So get ready New York City! Here’s a great little film that came out of this intense class: ”No”, written and directed by Hans Christian Berger, starring classmate, Dave Coleman — screening on July 6th in NYC at 7PM. http://www.newfilmmakers.com/festivals/2010sumfest.php

For Hans’ film to get selected to this festival is a validation of the whole film school experience and the student/mentor creative relationship. As a teacher, it’s very rewarding.
